depressed kids more likely to mature faster?
having recently met some people who have suffered from depression and mental health related issues, mosty kids who dont go to school, in my opinion, they seem to have matured faster than other people their age. And im 14, homeschooled, mental health issues, and my mother thinks that im more mature than her. Which i think is a compliment.
What do you think?
I believe that children who grow up in the surroundings of their parents, or older generations, tend to act more like them, and evenually matures greatly. Also kids with mental health issues have alot to handle/manage, therefore learns to take care of themselves which, in a way makes them mature.
That’s actually been proven to be sociologically false.
Children who are home-schooled tend to have poor social skills and much higher instances of anxiety disorders. They have a hard time making friends and relating to other people because they don’t tend to have any friends outside their home.
So, they may know more about how to run a household, but they’ll struggle in college and in the work place.
